Hospitality is experienced at close range and judged on finish. A guest reads a venue through its signage, wayfinding, branded reception moments, lighting and the quality of the fabricated elements around them - and every surface has to survive cleaning, handling and constant use without losing its appearance. That standard is the brief we build to.
DesignTech Group runs the full production chain in-house: signage, digital printing, metal and acrylic fabrication, carpentry and joinery, digital screen integration, design development and installation. A hospitality brief is coordinated through one point of contact, so a venue never has to manage four suppliers to achieve one consistent standard.
Guest-facing signage and wayfinding
Guest-facing signage in a hospitality venue has to be clear, durable and on-brand simultaneously. We fabricate illuminated and non-illuminated signage, directional and wayfinding directories, room and floor identification, and branded reception features - each produced in-house with concealed wiring and finishes engineered for the venue's environment.
Wayfinding is where legibility meets design. A directory that reads beautifully at a desk can fail at the end of a corridor; a backlit room sign that works in a lobby can glare in a low-lit lounge. We resolve that during the design stage, working to the venue's actual sightlines, lighting and traffic, not a generic template.
Durable finishes and fabrication
Hospitality fabrication is held to a higher durability standard than a typical retail fixture. Components are cleaned frequently, handled by guests and staff, and expected to keep their finish for years. We select materials and finishes accordingly - stainless steel, corrosion-resistant metalwork, edge-polished acrylic, durable spray and powder-coat finishes, and joinery finished for the fixture's load and lifespan.
Acrylic is useful in hospitality for light transmission and edge-lighting, but it scratches and can be affected by heat from high-power LEDs without adequate clearance. Metal gives strength and a premium finish but adds weight and may need corrosion protection. We specify per venue, and confirm the material, coating and fixing before production rather than applying a default.
Branded reception and retail moments
Many hospitality venues now carry branded retail or concierge moments - a duty-free display, a boutique corner, a branded bar front. We have produced retail kiosk and display work for premium beauty brands in airport duty-free environments, including an illuminated Guerlain retail kiosk with lightbox integration. That experience transfers directly to hospitality: the same finish standards, the same close-range scrutiny, the same requirement that the unit look correct under the venue's lighting.
We do not list hotel, restaurant or food-and-beverage clients we have not confirmed. Where a hospitality reference would help, we can share relevant retail and airport work on request and confirm scope for a specific venue after the brief is reviewed.
Working around an operating venue
Hospitality work almost always happens inside a live venue, which makes installation a logistics exercise as much as a fabrication one. Access is restricted, working hours are set around guest occupancy, existing surfaces and finishes must be protected, and the venue keeps operating. Our installation teams handle access checks, protection, positioning, fixing, clean-up, snagging and handover - and we confirm permits, hours and electrical responsibility before any detailed scope is published.
A site survey records the dimensions, existing surfaces, access and loading routes, fixing points, power and cable routes, lighting and any safety or landlord constraints. The final survey scope depends on the project, but the principle is constant: measure, protect and install around the guest, not in spite of them.
